Users can submit any song that is in Spotify, there is no restriction to it - it’s not prohibited to send songs that are not yours, you can check that the Spotify search bar lets you select any song before submitting.
May we ask why do you think this is a problem?
Please let us know!

Hi, thanks for your response and for clarifying the policy.
From an artist’s perspective, allowing any user to submit any song from Spotify, regardless of ownership, could lead to issues. For example, it might create opportunities for misuse, where tracks are submitted without the artist’s knowledge or permission. As in this case with Timecop1983, who is a huge artist in the Synthwave scene—if you look on socials, you’ll see the uproar about this Waves on Waves guy stealing his music. I actually know the owners of the record label that Jordy Timecop 1983 is signed to and spoke to them directly to check it wasn't his music by the way.
I’m not a lawyer, but as someone who runs a record label, I can’t help but think this kind of situation might raise potential copyright infringement issues. Unauthorized submissions could create problems for the artists involved, and possibly even for the platform. Maybe if a complaint is raised you could ask them to prove ownership of the release by providing the streaming aggregator details or screen shots as a protection barrier. Not many people do this so you should have to deal with it very often.
This kind of thing could discourage artists from trusting the platform but could also damage its reputation as a valid and reliable space for musicians. A more secure or transparent process might help build confidence, avoid misuse, and protect everyone involved. I really like the platform by the way thank you, but I did feel this is important.
Thanks again for listening, and I hope this feedback is helpful!

Hey Cole, thanks for sending this information.
We understand the issue here - to be completely honest, this is the first report we receive about the ability DailyPlaylists users have to send any song from Spotify to playlist. I will raise this case with the team in our next meeting, but this looks as a niche case.
Also, what I understand is that the artist Waves_on_waves is using Timecop1983’s music unauthorized?
Please keep us updated.
All the best,
